U.S. finally lifts its travel ban during the pandemic

As a first generation of US citizens of my family that means if some of our family wants to to visit us had to quarantine for 14 days somewhere the U.S. has stamped as safe.

Today that has changed, I am relieved for the many families that have not been able to see each others, but also for the many families that live off the Tourism and service industries. I’ve seen so many to lose their jobs and sometimes retire because of it.

This is a delicate subject for me, my family had a “Theme park/Social Club” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL14vMuhnCM on the mothers side and a travel agency on my fathers side, the economy downfalls were always the tuff times, but never seen like this, if the economy is not doing well you cut travel, entertainment, in this case it was not cut it was a shutdown.

I hope this is the signal of things to come to a full recover of this industry, I know changes will come and i hope for the best.

Discovery Flight with Faithful Guardian Aviation

I took a discovery flight with Faithful Guardian Aviation, a Groupon promotion that took me to the sky with them, there was no sponsorship on this video other than the kindness of FGA and the instructor.

I have been in planes since I was a small kid, large planes mostly until I was 15 years old. Once 15 me and my brother, an apprentice mechanic at a small air taxi in Brazil started hitching rides between Goiânia to Brasilia and back to visit our mom. That experience made me used to small planes and the shaking and throwing around from high winds.

This is a passion I have, my brother is a licensed Private Pilot he got it in Napa Valley, and I a wannabe, I decide to take my second discovery flight with Faithful Guardian Aviation. I have to say that their professionalism a demeanor have made my passion lit again. I am over the age of a career on the field but not to be a recreational pilot, with a little experience as a licensed drone operator (part 107) I am maybe a 1/4 away from the ground skills.

Delta 737-200 Flight Simulator lesson

During our visit to the Delta Flight Museum, we were also able to experience the 737-200 simulator experience and that was a blast, been the second time I have been flying a plane, the first in a real flight on a Cessna 172, this was a big jump.

Delta Flight Museum features a real world flight simulator used to train 737-200 pilots back in the day when those planes were flying, today it’s used to train, amuse or just be fun for Museum visitors.

With professional instructors, you can choose where to fly to and from and rent this simulator for hour slots.

We were able to take off and land the 28 R from San Francisco and it was a lot of fun with Mike Raftis at the first officer seat as an instructor. For more information visit https://www.deltamuseum.org/visit/visit.

The city of Nubeena, Aboriginal for Crayfish

I had the great opportunity to experience a visit to the Island of Tasmania, to meet its people and landscapes. Within a company project we spent a couple of days collaborating with the local folks and helping in
areas in need and the other part self awareness.

Layover in London

In 2013 me and Rossana, started dating and planned a trip to visit Gabriela (Gabi) in Nice and spend about a week there but as a good non-rev traveler we planned to stop in London for a 24 + hours Lay Over.

With no reservation we landed and took the train down to Paddington Station, got in a Starbucks and connected with the IHG site to use our points to  get a night stay and we did.

We stayed at the time at the Intercontinental Westminster which is now known as Conrad at London St. James.

Enjoy some of the pictures we taken.
