In 2014 I visited the Tasman Peninsula @ Tasmania, Australia

I had the great opportunity to experience a visit to the Island of Tasmania, to meet its people and landscapes. Within a company project we spent a couple of days collaborating with the local folks and helping in
areas in need and the other part self awareness.

I worked on the Tourism committee, with the experience in service industry from my family background and travel agency, plus mine with airline and social network so that was the one I applied for. The perception I had is that we had good impact with our friends. Let me stop bragging and tell you about this oasis.

The Peninsula

With a direct flight from Sydney you will arrive in Hobart International and drive down to Nubeena. The largest amount of
tourists though come to the peninsula for one thing. Port Arthur. The prison prison can be counted as one significant heritage site for Australia, for two reasons: the first it was created in the 1830’s and named after the governor of the island. The most notorious British criminals were kept here, and second  because of the massacre of 1996 that killed 35 and wounded 23. The massacre changed the politics of guns in Australia to date.

Right around the corner from Port Arthur we found Stewarts Bay Lodge, a cozy resort with beautiful views and walks

It’s not just about Port Arthur

The charm of the region and it’s tourism activities to  good portion of the visitors that do plan to visit the Peninsula’s are not known, this southeastern peninsula,  at times are not in the plans of the Hobart  visit of the island well and end up finding out what they are missing for not staying another day,  just hours of the departure of their flight back home, no one will pay change fees or lose other plans.
